From Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership: Parade and Traffic Advisory
Saturday, November 10, Pittsburgh will honor its veterans with a Veterans Day Parade.  Beginning at 10:30 a.m. the parade will start at Grant Street and Liberty Avenue, go down Liberty to Stanwix Street, and then down the Boulevard of the Allies to Commonwealth Place.  Because of the parade, there will be road closures on the parade-route streets. The next day, Sunday, November 11, the performance venues in the Cultural District all have full houses for their matinee programs. Use PARKPgh  to find real-time available parking in the participating garages.

Pittsburgh's Best R&B Concert and Bob Regis' "Twisted Mind" DVD release party is by far the most amazing R&B musical event of the year if not longer. The musicians, featuring Shari Richards, Billy Price, Stevee Wellons & the Smooth Groove Band, Andrea Pearl, Jill Paone Simmons and Sputzy and his trio, are playing together in hopes of raising awaress of the stigma against those suffering with mental illnesses. Net proceeds from the event will go to BringChange2Mind.org, an organization of the same purpose that provides educational resources to the public founded by Glenn Close.


The concert will feature a short film produced and directed by Pittsburgh's beloved Lynne Hayes-Freeland and will be hosted by none other than Steve Hanson, previously of WDVE. Click here for details.

First of all I have to say for having been written in the seventeen hundreds, the modern daytime soaps could not have done it better. From Olympian numbers of sexual partners to blatant anti-social behavior Don Giovanni was the stuff of dark serial soaps. One could not help but get caught up in the story, the musicality and the character development.  Even if you do not understand Italian, you could not escape any of this. Read the entire review here
