Amelia Williams
An influential trip to Venice Beach, California in 1999 inspired Amelia Williams to add jewelry making to her professional repertoire. Initially crafting unconventional pieces solely for family and friends, word quickly spread of her innovative approach.

Jewelry Art by Amelia was launched in 2009 with the motto that "no rules need apply in jewelry design, and no pattern or style is ever obsolete." Amelia's designs blur the boundaries of jewelry and art by incorporating elements of mood, attitude and emotion. Clients can obtain her distinguished selection of merchandise exclusively through private exhibits, personalized appointments and office presentations.
Amelia is a jewelry designer who creates exclusive custom commission jewelry designs for individual clients, companies, and non-profits. The unique motto for all her jewelry design work is that every piece is "handmade and designed with genuine inspiration.” Her clients consist of business professionals, brides, and anyone who truly desires unique jewelry for themselves or to give to that special someone a gift.

Amelia has nine different categories of jewelry “moods” for clients. She even has a jewelry redesign service she offers to clients called a "jewelry box makeover.” She custom designs bridal jewelry primarily with genuine vintage Austrian crystals and uses a variety of jewelry components including sea shells, Austrian crystal, glass, wood, resin, semi-precious stones, and genuine gold/silver metals.

Jewelry Art by Amelia has a team of artisans specializing in glassmaking, bead weaving, and lapidary designs. Their show schedule is posted on their website under the “events” tab.You can visit Amelia’s website at www.jewelryartbyamelia.com or call 412-482-2768.

Joy Maregene Stynchula
Joy Maregene Stynchula taught for thirty-four years in the Greater Latrobe School District. She also worked with gifted students at St. Vincent College in Drama and Multiple Intelligences and was a motivational speaker for Joy Communications.

After she retired, she really missed teaching but found her passion and purpose in educating and making a difference again when she found Kara Vita Clinical Skin Care.

Derma Zone, the parent company of Kara Vita, worked 14 years on research led by Dr. Michael Fountain to initially create a patented formula that would restore burn victims' skin to health. In 1989, they were highly successful in healing burn victims and other skin disorders in the hospitals and medical community.

At one time the only way you could acquire products like this was with a prescription from a dermatologist, plastic surgeon, or in the hospital.  VOILA... KARA VITA, (which means in the purest form of life), was born as the child in 2003 of the parent Derma Zone, so that the company could make these excellent products available without a prescription to the public.
Kara Vita products are very reasonably priced and last a long time. The key elements that sets this skin care apart from the cosmetic skin care industry are the THREE P's.
PATENTED PENTRATION TECHNOLOGY/ THE LYPHAZOME NANOTECHNOLOGY,
PRESCRIPTION STRENGTH 100% POTENCY IN ALL INGREDIENTS, and PURITY.

The Pittsburgh Steelers Football Team uses their Sun Care SPF 30. Kara Vita formulated their sun care in Australia, since this country has the highest rate of skin cancer.  Therefore, their standards are extremely high and rigid for sun care products. This is what they also choose as standards for their sun protection products.

Kara Vita has two huge free events coming up in October in this area to meet their President Deborah Duffey and hear her professional and vast wisdom on skin care and answer your own personal skin care questions. Details at Joy's booth.

Kara Vita is not sold in stores, you can visit Joy at her Hug-A-Thon booth, call her at 724-838-0610 or email her at ajoyfulreply@comcast.net.

Hank Walshak
Hank Walshak is Founder and President of Walshak Communications, Inc., a company he launched in 1984. He is known as The Communications Expert for Experts. As the name suggests, he works with business and professional experts to develop and communicate their marketing vision and content.

His ultimate role with the people and companies he works with is to enable them to stand apart from their competitors in highly distinctive ways as they communicate with their audiences through traditional and social media.

Hank has written three books and coauthored two. His most recent book—Driven: A How-to Strategy for Unlocking Your Greatest Potential, a work of creative nonfiction, was written with Razi Imam and published by John Wiley & Sons.

He also writes on business and healthcare for national media under his byline and the bylines of clients.

Hank is the Communications Director for Hug-A-Thon Pittsburgh and he feels this event demonstrates once again that to be a success, an event needs to start with a high concept that embraces and envelopes the people you want to involve.

He says the Pittsburgh media, as well as the town’s celebrities, are wonderful to work with. The event shows how a team of volunteers, sponsors, and charities can pull together to make a major event and a series of events a grand success.

His publicity efforts for Hug-a-Thon Pittsburgh shows how traditional media and social media work well in tandem. In fact, he feels his experience is a case study for other organizations to use in publicizing and promoting a major, non-profit event.

In just a short time, the upcoming event has received news coverage by WTAE-TV and KDKA-TV, an appearance by Joanne Quinn-Smith with Larry Richert on KDKA Radio, and a feature on Hug-a-Thon Pittsburgh in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Pittsburgh Tribune Review.

Tamar Cerafici
Tamar Cerafici, Supporting Sponsor, Barefoot Barrister author of the Blog, Legal Shoe is passionately committed to the causes of each of the charities that the Hug-A-Thon supports.

1. Cancer Cares: She has family members and friends who have suffered with or died of cancer, and organizations like Cancer Cares were so helpful to them as they tried to make sense of the disease and ease the treatments and stress on the family.

2. Sickle Cell Society, Inc:  it's a devastating disease with profound effects on the community.

3.  Operation Troop Appreciation: Tamar understands how difficult it is to have a family member deployed (her stepson was among the first troops into Iraq). We've been "at war" since 2001, and we're only now beginning to understand the awful stress on deployed troops and their families.

4. Passion for Life Foundation: Tamar loves the Pittsburgh Passion and seriously wants to get in shape to tryout. But she finds their foundation also really exciting. So many of her positive role models have been involved in sports, especially when they came into her schools because of foundations like the Passion for Life.

Tamar feels there is an Entrepreneurial "renaissance" happening in Pittsburgh and that small business will fuel the recovery. But, those businesses can’t make the recovery happen until they start thinking about their businesses a radically different way, from how they fund to their marketing plan.
