This month’s guest, Rieva Lesonsky, is CEO of GrowBiz Media, a media and custom content company focusing on small business and entrepreneurship. A nationally known speaker and authority on entrepreneurship, Lesonsky has been covering America's entrepreneurs for more than 30 years.

Lesonsky is a nationally-known speaker, and frequent media guest. She has appeared on the Today Show, Good Morning America, CNN, Fox Business News, The Martha Stewart Show, and Oprah, and can regularly be seen on MSNBC's Your Business.

Lesonsky discusses how business ownership is taking hold among all demographics. Particularly active right now are Gen Y (Millennials) and the over 50 set.

She relayed that women have been on the leading edge of business startups since the early 1990s and technology has changed how we do business, making it easier to start, but adding to information overload.

She went over mobile technology, as one of the newest-and most important- small business trends and told us that all businesses, no matter how small, or how local needs to have a website.

She focused on how social media has significantly shifted the marketing landscape, citing Pinterest as an example, which is currently having a big impact for retailers, and some service providers.
