Enjoy an enchanting sunset or dinner cruise on an intimate pleasure craft with all the amenities of home while viewing Pittsburgh the way it was meant to be seen - on the beautiful waterways of its Three Rivers. You can ride upriver on the Allegheny or down the Mon or Ohio to as far away as Wheeling.

The Business:

Rush Hour Boat Charters provides services to suit your taste, from sightseeing trips to business excursions. The 28 foot, chauffeured limo-boat is a pleasure cruiser. It accommodates six passengers, features a deck and a spacious cabin with all the amenities It’s great for anniversaries, bachelorette parties, river tours, dinner and scenic sunset cruises.
The Owner:

Captain Bob Rush, a Certified Master-Captain, has been cruising the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio Rivers for 30 years.

As a Pittsburgh native, he learned about river-boat safety from his uncle, Richard Rush. Richard was a member of the Allegheny County Sheriff's River Patrol.
We pick up from Station square, Three Rivers casino, North shore by either stadium, 18th street docks, the Convention center and so on. Pretty much any where there is river access.

  • For dinner cruises we use Redfin blues restaurant at Washington's Landing.
  • We have a full enclosure on deck and can reroute up or down river to avoid conditions if possible.
  • What's there to see that you can't from land?
  • There are plenty of things to see that even locals never get to see. For example there is the locks and dams,Western penitentiary, Neville Island sunset on the Ohio, Bruno's Island which Lewis started his expedition then met up with Clark on their unsuccessful journey looking for the northwest water passage.
  • Other than an intimate sightseeing cruise. We supply bottled water and pop. However, passengers may bring their own alcohol or we can pick it up for them as long as they are 21.

  • We do run specials every month and you'll have to check the website for those.

U CALL, WE’LL HAUL! No Job Is Too Big Or Too Small

We remove everything from an appliance to complete buildings of inventory.

We donate, resell or reuse the majority of the items we remove.

The Business:

U Call, We’ll Haul! is a privately owned solid waste and recycling company that specializes in the collection and processing of residential and commercial recyclables, curbside recyclables, metal waste and construction and demolition debris, as well as residential and commercial property clean-outs and corporate downsizing.

We are concerned about the environment- not only our natural environment but also our working and living environments. We do our part in supporting sustainability.

U Call, We’ll Haul! provides waste management services for industrial, commercial and retail customers alike. When we handle a customer’s waste stream we do everything possible to maximize the value of waste and avoid landfills. This can significantly reduce the cost of disposal, and benefit the environment at the same time.

We remove the things you don't need. That means we take away almost anything – from old furniture, appliances and electronics to yard waste and renovation debris, office equipment, files, you name it. We do all the loading and cleanup, wherever the items are located.

We charge by volume, not by the time it takes us to remove your waste products.

We have partnered with Green Earth Waste Recovery, a company based in St. Louis, MO to serve customers such as Starbucks, Sears, Jenny Craig, MSC Direct and more.

What do you do with the items you remove?

We make every effort to recycle or donate the items we take away.

Cleaning out your basement, garage, shed, or yard? Have unsold merchandise from a yard or garage sale? Moving and not taking all your belongings with you? Have unwanted 'waste' you don't know what to do with? Downsizing? Moving to a different location? Have an overstocked, overstuffed storeroom? Call us! We will pickup and remove your stuff for you! We provide fast, friendly, and reliable service.

FRANNET 10 Dumb Things To Avoid When Buying A Business

John Tubridy, Franchise Consultant and Advisor for Franchise Network of Pittsburgh aka FranNet

Many mistakes that people make are predictable. To help you to avoid making them, FranNet has compiled a list of ten of the dumbest mistakes you can make when going into business. We’ve made some of them ourselves, so take advantage of our experience and save yourself from some potential problems!

• Don’t overextend financially when buying a franchise.

• Don’t start to look until you have an idea of what you’re looking for.

• Don’t assume that starting a business is easy!

• Don’t try to go it alone. Use Experts.

• Don’t forget about a business plan.

• Don’t pick a business because “there are so many of them, they must be good.”

• Don’t skip talking with the other franchisees.

• Don’t put it on your credit card.

• Don’t pick the business your dad (or spouse) likes best.

• Don’t fall in love with the product.

Many of us dream of being our own boss someday, and we know that it’s impossible to take all the risk out of going into business for ourselves. Avoiding as many dumb mistakes as possible can certainly help us move the odds into our favor.

So, if we are to have our dreams fulfilled, we should approach the opportunity of owning our own business with our eyes open, and with the strength of knowledge and planning -- this is the formula for becoming a successful business owner!
