The Gift of Sleep: Getting enough sleep could be the best gift you give yourself this month. Most of us do not get enough. This can lead to trouble with focusing and thinking creatively. It may even make us gain weight. Studies have shown that when you deprive yourself of sleep, hormones that control your appetite cannot work properly.

The Gift of True Enjoyment: You probably have one holiday treat that you like the best. Save your calorie expenditure for that treat. Don't waste calories on other things just because they are there. Wait for that treat and totally savor it. Enjoy it and don't feel guilty.
The Gift of Quiet: Take a few minutes throughout your week to enjoy quiet. Curl up with a book, without turning on the television. Soak in the tub with a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. Just a few minutes of complete quiet can revive and rejuvenate you.

The Gift of Peace of Mind: Stay on a budget. Don't create stress for yourself when the holidays are over by overspending now. Get creative--you know you can cut back. Even a little less on each gift can help.'

The Gift of Healthy Food: Make sure that each day, you eat one meal or one snack that is healthy. No matter what else you do, your body will thank you for this small effort toward good health.

The Gift of Water: This may seem like a funny gift, but drinking enough water is so important for your health. We need to keep hydrated, especially when we are busy shopping, visiting, and running around. Sometimes we mistake thirst for hunger, so drinking enough water can keep us from overeating.

The Gift of Movement: Stretch. Start each day with some gentle stretches. Take some walks on your lunch hour or in the evening with a friend. Schedule a yoga class or take a spinning class. Be aware of your body and nurture yourself.

The Gift of Fresh Air: Get outside, even if it is just for a few minutes at a time. Breathe. Open your windows to air out your rooms for a few minutes each day. Clear out toxic air!

The Gift of Awareness: Pay attention. You won't have this time in your life ever again. Enjoy the feeling of coming into your warm home on a cold day. Savor a cup of tea as you watch the snow. Pay attention to your thoughts and what you may be attracting --positive thoughts attract positive things.

The Gift of Choice: Remember that you have a choice about how you spend your time. You do not have to accept all invitations, and you do not have to take your children everywhere they want to go. If there are gatherings that you feel you must attend, choose how long to stay. Give yourself the gift of choice and you will
not be as stressed--I guarantee it.

The Gift of Relaxation: Schedule a massage, a facial or a manicure and keep the appointment! The benefits of massage are numerous and include strengthening the immune system and relieving stress. A facial will relax you and give you a great glow for the holidays. Just taking the time to sit for a manicure or pedicure can do wonders for your energy levels. (And yes, men can do these things too!)

The Gift of Love: Remember you are important and take it easy on yourself. You need your rest, your sleep, good food and time alone. Give yourself love and do not waste time thinking about what you didn't finish or what you you didn't do. This is a season about love and that includes loving yourself and appreciating all the things you accomplish everyday.

I wish you all the best during this Holiday Season. Much love and happiness to you and your friends and family!
Sincerely,Diana FletcherDiana Fletcher Life Coaching
