In honor of Black History month we will be interviewing the 2015 Woman of Achievement Spirit of the 19th Amendment honoree Constance ?c??Connie?c?? Portis. Ms. Portis founded Renaissance Publications in 1984. She published the Renaissance News a weekly newspaper, The Greater Pittsburgh Black Business Directory, the Women?c??s Yellow Pages, created and coordinated the Black Extravaganza and Trailblazer Awards and Womanpower seminar for African American women. She is responsible for creating networking events including Pope to People Connections, womanpower Networking events, Balck Business Holiday Expos, buying out entire Pittsburgh Public Theater nights and hosting and all-African American audience to see August Wilson?c??s plays she was the first African American to rent the entire Carnegie Museum and host more 1000 guests annually for 16 years.
